Delta One Lounge Los Angeles Airport (LAX)
Ahead of my Delta One flight from Seattle to Seoul, I needed to complete a domestic flight from Los Angeles up to Seattle. The good news? If you have a same-day Delta One ticket, you can use Delta One check-in and lounges at all airports along your journey (where available), meaning we got to experience all the best of Delta One at LAX as well.

Delta One Lounge entrance
Delta One check-in at LAX is unlike any other US carrier check-in facility, mainly because it has its own entrance. It’s more like walking into a hotel lobby than an airport check-in area. The staff are standing behind desks that don’t even look like traditional check-in desks, and they’re unusually jolly for US airline staff.

If there’s a bit of a wait, you’re invited to sit down, and they bring you refreshments and a hotel towel (!!!) while you wait. They don’t just bottled water or something basic, there are proper drinks and light bites, and it all feels a bit more like a lounge than a check-in area.
I remember thinking, this is still just check-in, and it already feels more premium than a lot of actual lounges.
Once we’re done with check-in, we clear private security, and then header straight up an elevator directly to the lounge.

There are two Delta One lounges at LAX - the one I will visit in terminal 3 and a newer one in terminal 2.

When I arrive in the lounge, I start walking around to get a feel for the space. There are a bunch of different seating areas, including some really nice solo seating setups, which stood out because they actually feel designed for people traveling alone rather than just generic lounge chairs.

The lounge has a mimosa station near the entrance, and further in, a pastry table loaded with gourmet-looking delicacies. To the side, there’s a counter that turns into a sushi bar later in the day.

The outdoor terrace stood out to me the most. Delta clearly leans into fresh air and outdoor space here, with heaters that let you sit outside even at six in the morning in the cold LA winter, with sweeping views of the airport and, as the sun came up, the Hollywood Hills in the distance.

Delta One Lounge LAX Food and Beverages
The food at the Delta One Lounge in Los Angeles stood out to me. Mine and Oskar’s diet tends to skew quite LA, and this menu delivered almost everything we could want.

Then for breakfast, we ordered a pea protein smoothie, an acai bowl, avocado toast with Beyond Meat sausage, and oatmeal. The flavor and quality were restaurant-quality, which is not something I can say about most airline lounges, even some of the best in the world. It was one of the most satisfying meals we have had in any lounge, and the pacing of the service matched the quality of the food.

The lounge also features relaxation rooms with private massage chairs, set slightly apart from the main seating areas. It’s a noticeably quieter space, designed for anyone looking to step out of the main lounge and unwind in a more private setting.
Delta One Lounge LAX Bathroom
I went inside the restrooms, and they’re heavily finished in marble. I love it! No US-style toilet cubicles with gaps between the doors here…

They also use Grown Alchemist soap, which just adds to that overall premium feel even in a functional space like a bathroom.

Overall Impressions
The Delta One Lounge at LAX delivers one of the most polished ground experiences I’ve encountered in the U.S. airline landscape.
What stood out most wasn’t any single feature, but rather how seamlessly the entire experience flows. From private check-in, to security, to lounge access, and finally onward to the gate. The food and beverage offering was a real highlight, particularly given the range of items available and the quality of execution across what I tried. The terrace added another dimension to the space, offering something that feels rare in a major hub airport.
If I had one takeaway, it’s that this is an experience designed to remove friction at every step, and it largely succeeds in doing so. It’s the kind of lounge that makes the airport experience feel less like a transition point and more like part of the journey itself.
And in my case, arriving there after days of travel, it did exactly what it needed to do it reset the tone for the long-haul segment ahead to Seattle and onward to Seoul. Keen to see what the competition offers? Check out my United Polaris Business Class review next.
